Warrington Wolves record stunning crowd against Leigh Leopards

Warrington Wolves lost their pre-season friendly against Leigh Leopards which has left fans concerned and coach Sam Burgess “disappointed.”

Leigh started the better of the two teams taking a 12-0 lead with tries from Josh Charnley and Zak Hardaker.

Warrington defended well and eventually hit back through James Harrison but in the second half Leigh then added two tries in four minutes, first from NRL import Matt Moylan before Umyla Hanley went over down the right.

Wire hit back on 63 minutes as a pinpoint kick to the corner from Powell was collected and touched down by young outside-back Frank Sergent.

Sam Burgess’ side finished the game with 12 men as Brad Dwyer was sent to the sin bin following a high shot.

Quick passes down the left side almost sent Jake Thewlis over in the corner but the winger was dragged into touch.

Leigh scored their final try in the dying stages as Tom Nisbet went over.

The Wire are next in action when we kick-off the new Super League campaign in a fortnight’s time away to Catalans Dragons.
