Two Warrington Wolves players have linked up with the Super League side’s dual-registration partners ahead of a key Challenge Cup tie.
Round Two of the Challenge Cup concluded this past weekend for all bar two clubs with 19 of the 20 fixtures played on Saturday and Sunday.
The game that was not played was the Yorkshire clash between League One Keighley Cougars and Championship side York Knights on account of the Knights’ previously arranged Amsterdam Challenge against Hull KR.
York had confirmed their fixture in the Netherlands against the Robins way before the new Challenge Cup structure was announced, which just so happened to fall on the weekend that the Round Two fixtures were to be played.
Whilst York won in Amsterdam against Hull KR, Keighley defeated a Bradford Bulls team made up primarily of their reserves and young talents.
As such, both teams head into this weekend’s rearranged Round Two Challenge Cup clash off the back of a win and Keighley do so with two Warrington Wolves youngsters following their dual registration deal.

The League One outfit took to social media to confirm that they have brought in two Warrington Wolves youngsters on loan for the game with Wire being the Cougars’ Super League dual-registration partner.
Dual registration deals mean clubs can share players more easily than a loan deal which has stricter terms around it in relation to the length of the deal, as opposed to one-off games.
Posting on social media, Keighley announced: “Joe Bajer and Charlie Mckler will join Keighley Cougars this week as part of the Dual Registration agreement with Warrington Wolves.
“Both these players are in contention to feature in Jake Webster’s side to take on York Knights this weekend.”
There’s a big incentive for the Cougars to progress given that the winner of their tie against York will face Hull KR in a game that will be broadcast on the Sportsman Rugby League YouTube channel on February 7th.
Before then, they’re on the Sportsman again with this weekend’s fixture to be streamed live on the channel. Kick-off is at 3 pm with coverage starting shortly before that. The link for that fixture is here.
