Warrington Wolves new signings speak out after joining the club for 2023

Two of Warrington’s new signings, Gil Dudson and Josh McGuire, have offered their thoughts on the upcoming season and what brought them to sign for the Wire.

New arrival from Catalans, Gil Dudson, said in a video posted to the Wolves YouTube that he is well aware of the expectation surrounding the club following a below par 2022 campaign.

He said: “When I spoke to Karl (Fitzpatrick) and Daryl (Powell) and what they wanted to do with this year and the following years, and the Pack they wanted to build and the type of team they wanted to build, it was really exciting and something I wanted to be part of.

“I think for the team as a whole, no one here is happy with how the season went last season. I think there’s a lot of work to be done and we started on the right foot today.

“I think we’ll continue in the right vein of form and we’re working on the things that didn’t work last year. I think things will go a lot better than they did last season.”

Former Australian international and 2017 World Cup winner Josh McGuire spoke about life in England so far and made comment on what a brilliant opportunity it was to join Super League.

“I’m just really enjoying getting around town as well, meeting everyone and getting the lay of the town which has been nice. Can’t complain at all, super excited and thankful for the opportunity.

“I know the quality of football, you see the way England played this year in the world cup. Very high calibre of football, they were within a whisker of going to the World Cup Final and were in the final in 2017.”

Both Dudson and McGuire will add plenty of power to the Wolves and will form a strong forward pack that has been bolstered by another former Catalans star, in the shape of man mountain Sam Kasiano.
