Warrington Wolves have made a decision on whether to appeal James Harrison’s ban from last week’s win over Huddersfield Giants.

On Monday, Harrison was given a one-match ban for Grade B Dangerous Contact, meaning he was set to miss their game against Leeds Rhinos on Thursday.

Elsewhere, Wigan Warriors players were handed plenty of charges this week. Mike Cooper and Luke Thompson have both been given Grade B charges – for Head Contact and Dangerous Contact respectively – and handed £250 fines.

However, Brad O’Neill has been given a one match ban for a Grade B Dangerous Throw/Lift, which will be a big blow for the Warriors ahead of their huge derby game against St Helens at the weekend.

Moses Mbye of St Helens was also given a one match ban, while a duo of Leigh Leopards players got £250 fines – Robbie Mulhern, who was sin-binned, and John Asiata.

Finally, Yusuf Aydin of Hull FC was also fined.

Warrington Wolves appeal decision made on James Harrison

Harrison was named in their 21-man squad for the Leeds game, suggesting the club may have appealed and are confident they’ll have their appeal upheld

Now, the RFL have confirmed to Serious About Rugby League that they have indeed appealed, with the decision set to be made today.

Also appealing a one-match ban is Moses Mbye, banned for late contact on Tex Hoy in St Helens’ loss to Castleford Tigers.

However, Brad O’Neill’s ban will not be appealed, despite his ‘dangerous lift/throw’ appearing to many to be a pretty good tackle.

In League One, Danny Craven of Oldham is appealing a Grade E charge for abuse of a match official, which would land him 3-5 games out.

Warrington Wolves face Leeds Rhinos on Thursday 11th July at the Halliwell Jones Stadium at 8 pm.

They’ve been forced to leave out several high-profile names due to injury with trio Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Toby King and Connor Wrench all leaving the field injured in their huge 48-0 win over Huddersfield Giants on Friday.

Whilst there’s a return for winger Matty Ashton, the same cannot be said for Josh Thewlis who remains out. Leeds Rhinos have some injury issues of their own as well with centre Harry Newman absent on the team list for Thursday’s game.
