Warrington Wolves deliver statement on Mike Cooper following Wigan Warriors move

Warrington Wolves have written their goodbyes to Mike Cooper who will be joining Wigan Warriors at the end of the season.
The Warrington-born prop is a product of our Academy system and has played 269 games for the club during two spells spanning an incredible 14 seasons.
The 33-year-old England international made his primrose and blue debut back in 2006 against London Skolars in the Challenge Cup. In 2014, Cooper enjoyed a spell in the NRL representing St George-Illawarra Dragons for three years before returning to club in 2017.
Cooper has lifted the Challenge Cup four times during his time at Warrington as well as the League Leaders’ Shield in 2011. He has also played in three Grand Finals.
Warrington Wolves Chief Eecutive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “Mike has been an unbelievable servant for this club. This was recognised by him being awarded a Testimonial in 2020.
“He’s a player who wears his heart on his sleeve, and I know how much it has meant to him to represent his hometown club for so many years.
“I know he’s determined to ensure we finish the season strongly and I wish him well for the next stage of his career.”
Cooper has signed an initial 12-month deal with an option to extend by another year at Wigan.
