Ex-Hull KR man Kelepi Tanginoa has joined Warrington Wolves ahead of the new Super League season.
The back-rower, who won the treble last season with the Robins, has penned a two-year deal with the Wolves, with the club having the option of extending that contract by another 12 months.
It’s a deal that significantly bolsters Sam Burgess’ pack and back-row options, with the Wolves already adding Sam Stone and James Bentley for the 2026 campaign. And, given the head coach found himself extremely short of size and power in the pack at times last season, it’s certainly a move that makes sense.
Tanginoa spent two seasons with Rovers, making 59 appearances and scoring 16 tries, and he was part of the KR side that beat Warrington Wolves in the Challenge Cup final. Prior to his time in east Hull, he had four and a half seasons with Wakefield Trinity.
He also has NRL experience, having represented Parramatta Eels, North Queensland Cowboys and Manly Sea Eagles, making 32 appearances in total.
Warrington Wolves land Kelepi Tanginoa
“I’m excited to get started at such a big club, just to be here is surreal,” Tanginoa told the Wolves’ website. “The opportunity to work alongside Sam Burgess and Steve McNamara is massive, and I’m looking forward to what they can add to my game, and where I can add value to the team as well.
“I’ve played here a few times, and it’s very, very loud, so to be on this side now is going to be awesome.”
On his latest recruit, Burgess added: “Kelepi is a fantastic addition for us ahead of the new season. He brings a great level of experience and will add some punch to the group. We’re looking forward to welcoming him into the playing squad.”
Tanginoa represents Warrington’s seventh new signing ahead of the 2026 season, following Bentley, Stone, Toafofoa Sipley, Liam Byrne, Josh Smith and Albert Hopoate to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
