Warrington Wolves head coach Sam Burgess is in a race against time to see his visa approved before heading out to Las Vegas.
According to reports Down Under, the Warrington boss has had to make an urgent trip to the US embassy in London in a bid to get his visa officially approved.
The Daily Telegraph have reported that just days away from the Warrington Wolves squad flying stateside there is uncertainty over whether head coach Sam Burgess will be with them.
Warrington host Catalans Dragons on Friday night before making the flight stateside on Sunday, however, these reports have thrown a spanner into the works regarding the status of Sam Burgess.
It would be a huge blow for the event and of course Warrington Wolves if Burgess is unable to make the journey with his prior driving offences potentially a cause of the hold up.
A number of NRL players who have been involved in off-field trouble had issues getting their visas granted but Burgess’ status still being a concern just days before the club fly is a major worry.
Warrington are heading stateside to take on Wigan Warriors in what will be an action-packed day of rugby league, starting with the two Super League sides going at it.
Also on the schedule is a clash between England Women and Australia Women as well as two NRL games with rugby league set to take over Sin City on March 1st.
Before they head stateside, Warrington face Catalans whilst Wigan travel to face Hull FC with both of those games taking place on Friday night.
Warrington are looking to build on their gritty win over Huddersfield Giants whilst Wigan are aiming to avoid a fourth straight Super League defeat at the MKM Stadium and get in the winning column after their 1-0 loss to Leigh Leopards.
