Warrington Wolves announce only one stand will be open in Salford Red Devils’s visit to the Halliwell Jones

Lee Mossop’s testimonial will be taking place tomorrow at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with a 7:45pm kick-off.

However, Mossop will only be received by one stand as the majority of the Halliwell Jones will be closed off.

The club announced, via their website, that the East Stand will be closed, but that supporters that have purchased tickets in the East Stand will now be moved to unreserved seating in BLOCK I in the North Stand.

It’s been 14 years since Mossop made his rugby league debut for the Wigan Warriors.

The prop forward would become a permanent fixture in the side and help them to the double in 2013 playing in their Old Trafford triumph over Warrington before making the move to the Parramatta Eels in the NRL.

That stay Down Under didn’t last long, however, and he returned to Wigan but didn’t feature in Wigan’s Grand Final win over Warrington in 2016.

Mossop swapped Wigan for the Salford Red Devils, helping to steer the Manchester club  to a first ever Grand Final in 2019 and then did exactly the same a year later in the Challenge Cup.

Though they lost both finals, the prop will forever be remembered in Salford folklore.
