Ahead of Sunday’s Challenge Cup semi-final, both Warrington Wolves and Hull KR have named their 21-man squads, and both have been dealt some positive injury news.
The game is a repeat of last year’s Final, where KR took the spoils thanks to a late try from Tom Davies – something they will be hoping to do again in their bid to go back-to-back.
Sam Burgess’ men have been beaten finalists in the past two seasons, so know who to get to the big dance, however their problem seems to be getting over the line once they get to Wembley.
Starting with the Robins’ news first, and there was some initial concern over Dean Hadley, who missed the second half of last week’s win over Castleford with some muscle tightness.
However, he has been named in the preliminary squad for Sunday, and should he feature will be a key asset to Willie Peters’ side.
Rovers have made two changes from last week’s squad, with Bill Leyland coming back into the fray following a week’s loan at St Helens.
Although he is unlikely to feature, given his return has been pencilled in for Leigh Leopards next week, French international full-back Arthur Mourgue has been named for the first time since his pec injury during the World Club Challenge.
Warrington will see Josh Thewlis return to the action after missing out against Huddersfield. Wire had to play youngster Lachlan Webster at full-back, with both Thewlis and Cai Taylor-Wray sidelined.
Josh Smith and Toff Sipley made their injury comebacks last time out and pulled through well, whilst another injury returnee sees Luke Yates added to the mix after he has missed the last three. Jake Thewlis drops out in his place.
