Warrington Wolves and Castleford Tigers: Super League stars who could be in disciplinary trouble

There weren’t any domestic league games at the weekend following an extended international break.

England took on the Combined Nations All Stars in a fiery encounter that saw only four tries scored across 80 minutes as the host nation took home an 18-4 win against Super League’s ‘rest of the world’.

There had been a bit of controversy leading up to the fixture at the Halliwell Jones Stadium – the home of Warrington Wolves – with both England and the All Stars decimated by key withdrawals.

The likes of Morgan Knowles and Mark Percival had been withdrawn by St Helens during the week leading up to the fixture whilst Jai Field and Bevan French had been taken out by Wigan Warriors for the All Stars.

It was, however, an international hit out finally for both Shaun Wane and Ellery Hanley as Jake Wardle – on debut – as well as George Williams and John Bateman led the try-scoring way for England.

Of course, it was Salford Red Devils powerhouse Ken Sio who finished off the All Stars’ only try as England ended with an 18-4 win, but there were some feisty moments on display.

Which Super League stars could be in disciplinary trouble?

England vs Combined Nations All Stars
Paul McShane (England) – dangerous tackle
Mike Cooper (England) – high tackle

If both are found guilty it could mean that McShane misses Castleford’s fixture against Catalans Dragons on Sunday whilst Cooper could miss Warrington’s home game against Hull FC.
