Warrington Wolves star Toby King will have his testimonial game against Leigh Leopards in pre-season for 2025.
The Wolves had a solid season in 2024, coming close to both a Super League Grand Final and a Challenge Cup crown, but falling short on both occasions.
Now, another stop on their pre-season journey has been confirmed with an early February clash to be played.
Last year, Joe Philbin had his own Warrington vs Leigh testimonial game, which kicked off the side’s pre-season preparations.
Now, another man in Toby King will be doing the same.
Warrington Wolves man to have testimonial game against Leigh Leopards
Toby King revealed in a Twitter post from the club today: “Hi guys, Toby here from a frosty barn in the middle of pre-season.
“Just come to bring you some news that it’s going to be my testimonial game on the 1st of February at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Time to be confirmed.
“But yeah, buzzing to get it sorted. Thank you very much to Warrington for getting my testimonial all sorted – and Leigh Leopards, buzzing that you’ve accepted to play me in that game.
“So thank you very much, it’s going to be a great game as it always is against Leigh. So thank you and hopefully, I’ll see as many of you down there as possible.”
King had an outstanding 2024, in his first season back at the Halliwell Jones Stadium since a spell with Wigan Warriors – where he started in the Grand Final victory over Catalans Dragons.
His first game for the side came in 2014, in a 72-12 victory over London Broncos, but became a true first-team starter in 2018 when they made it to the Super League Grand Final, losing to his future employers.
Now, over ten years since that first appearance, he has his testimonial game, after being granted a testimonial season by the RFL.
