Warrington v Leeds: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Two sides who have been scoring tries for fun recently do battle on Monday in what could be one of the games of the season. The high-flying Wolves look like title contenders again having beaten last year’s Grand Finalists as well as current league leaders Catalans. Meanwhile, Leeds are beginning to get over their early season struggles and have scored 27 tries in their last three games.

The big news for Warrington is the return of star centre Toby King. On Saturday, coach Steve Price confirmed that King would replace impressive youngster Connor Wrench at centre. It will be a major lift having King back in the fold following the termination of Greg Inglis’ time at Warrington. The Wolves will still be without Gareth Widdop so Stefan Ratchford will likely start at seven whilst Josh Thewlis remains at fullback.

As for Leeds, Alex Mellor and Bodene Thompson return from suspension whilst Konrad Hurrell and Ash Handley could return after suffering concussions last week. Hurrell is the more likely of the two to return after Richard Agar confirmed Handley’s struggles following his head knock for England. Rob Lui could also miss out after his return on Thursday. He was brilliant against Leigh but having only just returned from injury, Agar may not want to ask him to play two games in five days. Zane Tetevano is still self-isolating so Matt Prior will likely remain at loose-forward with Tom Holroyd at prop.
