Warrington v Hull KR: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

It’s that time of year again where every game is do-or-die. The Warrington Wolves know this all too well and have only missed out on the play-offs twice since 2009 in 2015 and 2017. For Hull KR, it’s a sensation they’ve not been accustomed to since 2013. But with their attacking style of play and their willingness to play off the cuff rugby, they might just find a way to win.

It’s Steve Price’s job, then, to ensure that doesn’t happen. So, he’s likely to go with as strong a team as he possibly can turning to experience ahead of his promising set of youngsters. That means we’ll see Toby King return to the centres with first choice wingers Josh Charnley and Tom Lineham on the flanks. Daryl Clark will return to nine meaning Stefan Ratchford will move back to fullback but after his superb showing last week Matty Ashton could be considered undroppable. Thus, he could start on the bench ahead of Blake Austin and Danny Walker. Joe Philbin will be forced to move into the front row following Mike Cooper’s ban whilst Jason Clark steps into 13.

Hull KR injury crisis doesn’t get any better. The Robins last Matt Parcell to their growing list of injured stars last week meaning Jez Litten will be forced to start at nine having been a brilliant impact hooker this year. That leaves a hole on the bench one likely to be filled by the returning George Lawler but could Tony Smith also look to someone he can use at nine on the bench, perhaps Rowan Milnes or Joe Keyes? Or will he trust Will Tate again in a move that allows Jimmy Keinhorst to move into the pack should he need to.
