Warrington have announced the signing of Swinton Lions winger or fullback Matty Ashton on a two-year deal from 2020.
We reported earlier this week that the Wolves were close to securing a deal for the 21-year-old, who is regarded as one of the top talents outside of Super League.
The former Rochdale Mayfield amateur has been a hit since joining the Lions at the start of this season, scoring a prolific 23 tries in 22 games.
“It’s dream come true to be able to get the chance to play full-time rugby league,” he told the Wolves’ club website. “Warrington is a massive club and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to building myself up both as a player and as a person. I can’t wait to get stuck into training and meet the lads.”

Warrington head coach Steve Price added: “Matty has been a consistent player throughout his first year in the Championship. He’s certainly got some wheels on him and knows his way to the try line.
“He’s a great young player with a lot of potential but he still has a lot to learn about the game. We’re confident we can turn him into a quality Super League player.”
