Warrington sign Super League prop

Warrington Wolves have finally announced the signing of Wigan Warriors prop Joe Bullock.

It has been one of the longest-running transfer sagas but finally Warrington’s capture of barnstorming forward Bullock has been confirmed by the club.

The former Barrow Raiders man had already wished his ex-Wigan teammates good luck on social media and now the cat is finally out of the bag with incoming head coach Daryl Powell getting his man.

Bullock has signed a three-year deal with the Wolves.

The 28-year-old – who stands at 6 ft 5 and weighs almost 18 stone – began his career with the Warriors, but failed to make a first-team appearance before a move to Barrow saw him re-establish himself as a consistent performer.

Over 100 appearances for the Raiders later and Wigan snapped him back up in 2019 and Bullock went on to make more than 50 appearances in the Cherry and White.

Speaking on the move to Warrington, Bullock said: “I’m really happy to be joining the club.

“I’ve had plenty of good battles with Warrington over the years whilst at Wigan so to get the opportunity to pull on the kit next year is a big honour for me.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to come here and I think it’s a good progression in my career. I’m looking forward to what we can do in the years ahead.

“I’ve had some good chats with Daryl Powell – I know what I can bring to the team and I’m looking forward to putting some good performances in now.

“The atmosphere is always good at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and the fans are always very loud. I can’t wait to run out for the first time.”
