Warrington man not charged for concussing Leigh forward – the RFL explains why

Warrington’s Sitaleki Akauola has not been charged by the RFL disciplinary for his charge on Leigh’s Tyrone McCarthy.

The major talking point happened in the fifth minute when Akauola carried the ball with incredible gumption towards the Leigh line.

McCarthy was in the firing line with the collision reverberating around the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

But, the disciplinary committee stated that: “Player comes into contact and does not promote the forearm or elbow into the opponent’s head.”
