Warrington long odds on to make it 4 league defeats in a row for Wigan

When this fixture was 1st announced we thought it would be a top of the table clash , but with Wigan in disarray this is now a must win for the champions if they are to have any hopes for the play offs .

The Warriors have lost all 3 of their games since the World Club Challenge , and are joint bottom of the table with just one win so far . The Wolves on the other hand sit in 3rd , with only one loss so in 2019  (in Perpignan against Catalans )

It’s no surprise then that we see odds of around 3/1 for Adrian Lam’s side , with the hosts around 3/10 . Wigan are yet to win on the road this season , with defeats at St Helens and London and I see no reason to suggest they can turn that form around at the HJ tonight .

They looked all over the place last week as they lost to Huddersfield and you’d worry for them here if the weather is good . The strong gales should be gone by kick off so you have to think that Warrington can win this by more than the 10 point handicap as they have done in all 3 of their home games so far . They looked impressive in beating Castleford by 14 poinrts last week , and their is a gulf in class between Cas and Wigan at the moment . Nothing is going right for Adrian Lam , and a few more defeats could see the Warriors hit the panic button  , admittedly it can’t be easy for him as he knows he only has the job until October .

An 11-15 point home win is about where I see this ending up , Warrngton at 8/11 on the half time full time with Super League sponsors Betfred is probably the value , Wire have led at half time and full time in all 3 home games so far this year .

Josh Charnley is the obvious 7/1 favourite for the 1st try , but but maybe better value in Jake Mamo at 9/1 . Hardaker is due a try and he is worth a 2nd glance at 20/1 .

Finally the man of the match , plenty of options in Primrose and Blue , with Austin , Clark and Ratchford disputing favouritism . They all have good claims but Ben Currie back fit is good value at 18/1 and he’d be my choice here , mind you Murdoch – Masila is far to big a price at 33/1 .

As for the Warriors it’d have to be Williams at 10/1 , but there aren’t many names standing out in Cherry and White . Again though 33/1 for O’Loughlin looks big .

More Super League on Sunday as Catalans go to Hull KR , as always please gamble responsibly .
