Ward: ‘London handled conditions well’

London Broncos Head Coach Danny Ward has said his side handled the conditions well during their 36-6 defeat at St Helens.

Both sides had to battle the heavy fog that was hanging over the pitch.

He said: “I thought we handled them pretty well. If anything, I thought we were quite conservative with the ball and I would have liked to have seen us play a bit more.

“But I think we coped with them well overall.”

Both sides went with strong starting 13s, as both sets of coaches look to find out what are their strongest combinations.

When asked how close that side would be to the one that would take to the field against Bradford Bulls, he said: “It wouldn’t be too far off.

“We still have a few lads who are putting their hands up for games. We had a few niggles and players playing out of position at times.

“We have another game against London Skolars on Friday, which some boys will feature and put their hands up for jerseys.

“We then have a big two weeks of training where it comes down to them lads working hard and fighting for them jerseys. But I cant imagine it will be too far off.”

The Broncos are hoping to bounce back to the Super League this season after their relegation in 2019.
