Shaun Wane will miss his first game since taking over as Wigan head coach to undergo hip surgery.
The Warriors boss will hand the reigns over to his assistant John Wilder for Saturday’s game against Catalans in the South of France.
Wane confirmed that he will have communication from the UK with his assistant as they aim to build on their 28-12 victory against Widnes last week.
“I’m gutted, it’s the first game I’ve missed during my time as head coach,” Wane told the media this afternoon.
Wigan won the reverse fixture 42-22 against the Dragons at the DW Stadium in April.
