Wakefield v Salford: Squads Announced

Wakefield and Salford have both announced their 21-man squads for Friday evening’s Super League fixture at Emerald Headingley Stadium (KO 5:30pm).

With nothing to play for, both sides’ main aim will be to finish this season on a high note.

Trinity have ended the year in decent form, winning three from their last four games and losing by just two points to Leeds last time out.

The Red Devils would have been pushing to finish seventh and remain on standby throughout the play-offs, however their three win deduction for a long-standing debt earlier this week has seen them drop to 10th in the table.

Wakefield Trinity

Tom Johnstone, Reece Lyne, Bill Tupou, Jay Pitts, Craig Kopczak all return for Trinity after being rested for last weekend’s visit of Leeds. They replace Joe Westerman, Alex Walker, Jack Croft, Adam Tangata and Yusuf Aydin.

21-man squad: 2 Tom Johnstone, 3 Bill Tupou, 4 Reece Lyne, 5 Ben Jones-Bishop, 6 Jacob Miller, 8 David Fifita, 9 Kyle Wood, 10 Tinirau Arona, 14 Jay Pitts, 15 Craig Kopczak, 16 James Batchelor, 17 Chris Green, 19 Jordy Crowther, 25 Brad Walker, 27 Lee Kershaw, 29 Ryan Hampshire, 31 Connor Bailey, 33 Harry Bowes, 36 Kelepi Tanginoa, 40 Innes Senior, 41 Eddie Battye.

Salford Red Devils

Long-serving duo Niall Evalds and Mark Flanagan have both been named to make their final appearances in Salford colours. Maverick fullback Evalds will join Castleford in 2021, while Flanagan is set to retire. There’s no final bow for NRL-bound Joey Lussick who misses out, while Kris Welham, Connor Jones and Luis Roberts, who will all move to the Championship next year, are included.

21-man squad: 1 Niall Evalds, 2 Ed Chamberlain, 3 Kris Welham, 4 Dan Sarginson, 5 Krisnan Inu, 6 Tui Lolohea, 8 Lee Mossop, 10 Gil Dudson, 12 Pauli Pauli, 13 Tyrone McCarthy, 14 Sebastine Ikahihifo, 16 Greg Burke, 17 Luke Yates, 18 Chris Atkin, 19 Mark Flanagan, 24 Elliot Kear, 25 Connor Jones, 26 Jack Ormondroyd, 28 Luis Roberts, 30 Andy Ackers, 32 Kallum Watkins.
