Wakefield v Leeds: Squads Announced

Wakefield and Leeds have both announced their 21-man squads for Thursday night’s West Yorkshire derby at Emerald Headingley Stadium (KO 8:15pm).

The Rhinos got back to winning ways last week against Salford and will be aiming to continue mounting pressure on Wigan, Saints, Warrington and Catalans above them, while Trinity have failed to score a point in their last two games and sit in 10th, just two points above Hull KR at the bottom.

Wakefield Trinity

Reece Lyne returns for Chris Chester side for the first time since the restart, replacing Bill Tupou. Prop George King is also included, with youngster Yusuf Aydin dropping out.

Leeds Rhinos

Forwards Alex Mellor and James Donaldson are back in contention after recovering from injuries. They replace Adam Cuthbertson, who suffered a back injury last week, and Konrad Hurrell, who pulled out of the game with a hamstring problem. Youngster Jarrod O’Connor, son of ex-Great Britain prop Terry, is also included.

UPDATE: This fixture has since been postponed after two Wakefield players tested positive for Covid-19.
