Wakefield v Catalans: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Winless Wakefield take on the impressive Catalans Dragons tonight for the second time this season. Early this year the Dragons knocked Trinity out of the cup no doubt leaving Wakefield with a thirst for revenge. However, the Dragons will have their own incentives as they look to bounce back from a first defeat of the season last week.

Wakefield’s injury problems have again worsened in key positions. Ryan Hampshire has now joined the growing injury list meaning Joe Westerman will likely move into the halves as he did last Friday against Hull. Loan signings Olly Ashall-Bott and Josh Evans could both make their debuts whilst Bill Tupou could return at centre. Jacob Miller, Tom Johnstone and Matty Ashurst are still unavailable.

Meanwhile Catalans have lost impressive back-row Matt Whitley to a neck injury. Thus, Joel Tomkins – who returns from suspension – will likely start in his place. I fancy that to be the only change from the team who lost to Warrington last week with Mickael Goudemand and Arthur Romano still out injured.
