Wakefield Trinity’s Kelepi Tanginoa suffers serious-looking injury in Huddersfield Giants clash

Huddersfield Giants took on Wakefield Trinity at the John Smith’s Stadium tonight, but there was a horrendous incident involving one of the latter’s side.

Kelepi Tanginoa – who had earlier scored a brilliant try cantering over from 40 metres out – was carried off the field with what looked like a serious lower leg injury.

That marred a tremendous performance from Wakefield up until that point.

Louis Senior was the first on the scoresheet, running 80 metres home after being set free by Ricky Leutele, but Wakefield turned the screw to dive over next.

Yusuf Aydin was able to crash over next to the posts off a brilliant Jordy Crowther pass with Mason Lino converting.

Will Pryce added a penalty goal for Huddersfield after the visitors were caught offside, but Wakefield had the last laugh of the first-half with Kelepi Tanginoa galloping over from 40 metres out off a superb Lino pass.

Lino couldn’t convert, but Wakefield went into the break with a 10-8 lead.

Tanginoa began the second-half in brilliant form as well, but fell awkwardly under a strong Pryce tackle and that was the end of the forward’s season.
