Wakefield Trinity v Hull FC squads confirmed as both sides make four changes

Hull FC coach John Cartwright

Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity bosses John Cartwright and Daryl Powell have made four changes to their respective squads this week. The Black and Whites travel to Belle Vue full of confidence after knocking Wigan Warriors out of the Challenge Cup last weekend, but they know they have their work cut out against an in form side.

Wakefield have won their last two against Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants and they’ll be looking to claim their first home win of the campaign on Friday night. Powell has seen three key men drop out through injury, with Max Jowitt, Matt Storton and Isaiah Vagana picking up issues.

All three will be missed, especially Jowitt, who has been Wakefield’s talisman so far this season. Jayden Myers also drops out of the fold.
However, the Trin are boosted by the timely returns of three men, with Cam Scott, Ky Rodwell and Josh Griffin all shaking off injuries to be involved against the Black and Whites, with Scott and Griffin in line to take on their former club.

Josh Rourke is also included and is the likely man to take on the full-back role in Jowitt’s absence.

Harvey Barron is the only injury-enforced change for the Black and Whites with the winger ruled out for around four weeks of action with a hamstring issue. Will Gardiner, Callum Kemp and Will Kirby also drop out of the fold.

However, Cartwright is in a position to hand Liam Watts a second Hull debut this week with the forward stepping into the fold. Sam Eseh also comes back in after being ineligible last week, while Ed Chamberlain has overcome a head knock to get the nod. Lloyd Kemp is the other man named in the 21.
