Wakefield Trinity star signing in interesting position for Leeds Rhinos clash as Mark Applegarth names his first side

Wakefield Trinity have headed over to Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley Stadium today just one day after Christmas for the traditional festive friendly between the West Yorkshire rivals.

The game kicks off at 11:30 this morning at Headingley and is live on the Our League App.

The early bird special was £4.95 but now you can watch the game for £10 today.

Mark Applegarth’s first Wakefield side has now been named for the clash with Max Jowitt at fullback.

Wingers include Lee Kershaw and exciting youngster Lewis Murphy ahead of Tom Lineham and Jorge Taufua.

Young centre Oliver Pratt starts at centre after signing a new deal this week which lasts for the next three years until the end of the 2025 season. He is highly thought of.

First choice Lee Gaskell and Mason Lino starts whilst new signing Morgan Smith starts at nine.

Fellow new signing Renouf Atoni is on the bench. The rest of the 13 is as you’d expect with the likes of Jai Whitbread starting in the pack, new skipper Matty Ashurst in the backrow with Jay Pitts and Jordy Crowther, new vice-skipper, is at 13.
