Today Wakefield Trinity have unveiled their 2022 Magic Weekend strip.
The jersey is unique in its design inspired by Polynesian history and is an intriguing lime green colour, a departure from the red, white and blue we usually see Wakefield play in.
Adorned by a special design which again speaks to the heritage the shirt is striving to embody, the kit comes together nicely and was promoted by a fantastic video on Twitter which said: “For this unique event the Magic Weekend, Wakefield Trinity is proud to reveal their special jersey. The players will be honoured to wear this jersey which represents Polynesian history and Wakefield Trinity both past and present.”

Wakefield are set to open the Magic Weekend on Saturday 9th July against French opponents Toulouse who they beat a few weeks ago to begin their recent good run of form with Salford Red Devils waiting tomorrow as Trinity strive to make it four wins in a row.
If they continue in this vein until July, their Magic Weekend fixture could take on added significance if they’re chasing play-off rugby. Either way, as they take on the French side in one of the biggest rugby league occasions of the year, they’re sure to look good in this special shirt and pay homage to Polynesian history.
