Wakefield Trinity reveal big news on Tom Lineham

Wakefield Trinity have been doing it tough in 2022 so far.

After incurring injuries to the likes of Jacob Miller, David Fifita and Liam Hood over the opening months, one of their star wingers has also been on the sideline.

That man is Tom Lineham, whose move to Wakefield at the end of the 2021 season ended his long affiliation with the Warrington Wolves.

His injury was a painful one.

“I’ve not got an actual diagnosis yet,” Lineham previously told the Super League Show.

“I’ve had an MRI scan and there’s a grade three MCL tear and a partial ACL tear which isn’t good because it could be a nine month injury.

“We don’t know the extent of the damage yet but it’s a minimum of three months.”

Lineham was gutted to say the least, given that he has only just made the move to Trinity and wanted to impress all of those around him.

“It’s obviously disappointing, going into a new team and trying to impress, you want to do well.

“It’s my first long-term injury since my Hull days so it’s tough to take.”

However, the former Warrington man will return for Wakefield against his former team’s reserves side tomorrow night following two months out.
