Wakefield Trinity return to old identity as stunning one-off Magic Weekend kit revealed

Wakefield Trinity

For one game only, Wakefield Trinity will become the ‘Wildcats’ once again, after releasing their shit for next month’s Magic Weekend event.

Trinity dropped the Wildcats pseudonym ahead of the 2017 season, after it was originally introduced in the 1999 season – to mark their first year in Super League.

However, ahead of this year’s two-day event at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they will return to that identity when they take on Castleford Tigers.

As well as the temporary name change, Wakefield have also brought out a brand-new kit that will be worn in that game, and it is a kit that tributes the 2008 jersey.

Featuring Red and Blue vertical stripes, the reception from Trinity fans, and Super League fans as well, suggests that Wakefield have released a hugely popular kit, with the timing of the release even more fitting.

John Kear, who sadly passed away over the weekend, was boss of the club in that 2008 season. In addition, it was also the last kit to be worn by former prop Adam Watene, who tragically died following a training session back in 2008.

Daryl Powell’s side take on the Tigers on the Sunday of Magic Weekend, and with ticket sales surpassing the 75,000 mark, it is set to be a huge event for the sport.

There is an offensive term in the wording of this article, and not one of the available emails to warn the publisher works. Maybe informing Wakefield youkre harming their brand will help you put up a working email.
