Wakefield Trinity hooker Tommy Doyle has departed the club after making no appearances for the first team this season.
Doyle has been severely hampered by injuries during his time at Belle Vue, with his last first-team appearance in Trinity colours being in July of last year.
After recovering from a long-term issue, Doyle made his playing return with Bradford Bulls, joining them on a week-to-week loan that has seen him feature twice under Kurt Haggerty.
The former Keighley dummy half played 34 games for the club, with the majority of those coming in Trinity’s 2024 Championship season where he helped them to the treble. He also scored in the 1895 Cup win that year.
Ste Mills, Wakefield’s Director of Rugby, said on his departure: “We’d like to thank ‘Doyley’ for all his hard work and dedication over the past three seasons.
“He has been a great professional to have as part of the club’s revival and return to Super League. As a club, we wish him well on the next part of his Rugby League journey.”

Bradford Bulls boss shuts down transfer opportunity after Wakefield Trinity man’s release
With the 27-year-old now without a club, a permanent move back to Bradford, where it all started, could have been on the cards, but Bulls boss Kurt Haggerty has today put an end to that speculation.
Haggerty, whose Bradford side faces Wigan Warriors this week, will not have Doyle at the club, meaning that yet another change to their 17 will be made.
Asked whether there was any chance of a third straight game for the hooker, the head coach told the press: “No, there’s been no talk to young Doyle about this week.”
Haggerty said that it is “highly unlikely” that Doyle will be part of his squad, but that was before Trinity had confirmed his release, so things may well change between now and Saturday.
