Wakefield Trinity make superb gesture to local children ahead of vital Super League clash with Toulouse Olympique

Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity have delivered over 2000 free tickets to schools ahead of Friday night’s clash with Toulouse.

With the recent news that under-16s will go free, the Foundation has been busy delivering tickets to school children situated across the Wakefield network.

Whether this is through their love of rugby league or pupils who have never heard of the sport in the past, all children will get the opportunity to attend a Super League showcase event, with Wakefield battling French side, Toulouse Olympique, at the Be Well Support Stadium – originally, of course, Belle Vue.

Throughout the week, the club’s School Sport Partnership, Rugby League and Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion staff have been up and down Wakefield, making sure everyone has a ticket for Friday.

Speaking upon the announcement of the initiative, Head of Foundation, Mark Brennan, said, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer free tickets to all pupils across the district.

“It is vital that everyone has the chance to watch a game of Super League in 2022 and it will be great to see so many faces attending a game for the very first time.”

Trinity head coach Willie Poching has been big on culture since he took over the reins at Belle Vue and this is just another example of the club giving back to the community.
