Wakefield Trinity Ladies make another coup from local rivals Halifax

Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL have announced the signing of Georgia Pitman-Smith from Halifax for the 2022 season.

Pitman-Smith follows the likes of Hebe Forbes, Kacey Davies and Lara Dalby in signing for the club from their West Yorkshire rivals.

After starting her rugby league journey at 16 for Odsal Sedburgh Sirens, Pitman-Smith joined Halifax in 2019, completing three seasons for the club upon signing at the Be Well Support Stadium.

Speaking about her move, Pitman-Smith, said, “I’m very pleased to be signed on with Wakefield, as it is my first season playing for a Super League team.”

“I’ve settled in quite well with the team as they are a lovely bunch of girls and welcomed me with open arms.”

Pitman-Smith is just one of numerous signings in recent weeks with the likes of Jade Key, Nataliina Romano, Cassy and Leonie Lawson all signing on the dotted line.

The four sign from Humberside club Hull FC for the start of the 2022 season, bolstering the pack even further ahead of the new season.

Cassy, who joined the Arlie Birds in 2018, was one of the first names they added to their ranks, gaining a starting spot from the off. Following a successful stint, she was picked for Yorkshire before in 2019.

Cassy is joined at the club by her sister, Leonie, who has also made the switch to West Yorkshire, while Jade and Nataliina both followed suit in the offseason.
