Wakefield Trinity head coach Willie Poching ready to welcome star back after nine months out

Wakefield Trinity head coach Willie Poching is set to welcome back a star following nine months out of the team.

Though hooker Liam Hood, Lee Gaskell and Mason Lino will miss the fixture against St Helens this weekend, Poching will welcome back Jack Croft, nine months after his last game following ACL reconstruction.

“He’s physically ready to play rugby league again after his long absence from his ACL reconstruction,” Poching told the Yorkshire Post.

“He’s feeling strong, fit, skill-wise he’s really up to where he needs to be, so we’re excited for him.”

With Saints overcoming both Catalans Dragons and Hull FC with ease, their next opponents Wakefield have lost narrowly to Hull FC as well as Catalans Dragons but Trinity certainly have their work cut out to get a result here.

Though this fixture away at the Totally Wicked Stadium may be too far out of reach, Trinity will shock a few sides in 2022.

Saints boss Kristian Woolf will have to do without flying winger Regan Grace for another week as Will Hopoate faces a race against time to be fit.
Poching will welcome back Jacob Miller though after he missed the clash against Catalans Dragons last week.
