Wakefield Trinity have granted a key member of their forward pack a release with immediate effect.
Seth Nikotemo has left Daryl Powell’s side on compassionate grounds, which has allowed the back rower to return home to Australia.
The 22-year-old joined the club at the beginning of last season, and has gone on to make 29 appearances in Super League, scoring eight tries.
Making his debut in a defeat to St Helens in April last year, his final game for the club came in the narrow 29-23 victory over Huddersfield Giants, which came one week after he scored a brace against Hull FC.
For Wakefield, the club have opted to use Mike McMeeken in the back row at times, whilst the ever-impressive Isaiah Vagana and Matty Storton will now need to step up in his place.
Commenting on the exit, Trinity’s Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “As a club we want to wish Seth all the best back home in Australia.
“Seth was an extremely well-liked and valuable member of our squad, and it has been amazing to see him flourish over the last two years. As always here at Wakefield Trinity though, we put family first so we have fully supported Seth’s decision to return back home to Australia.
We wish Seth, his partner Jess & all of his family back home the very best of luck for the future.”
