Wakefield Trinity currently have two brothers thriving in the youth set-up, and as a result the pair have both been rewarded with new contracts.
Charlie and Corey Abraham have both put pen to paper on new deals at the club, as the West Yorkshire side again look to build for the future by handing out long-term deals.
Charlie, the older Abraham brother, has signed his first professional contract after featuring heavily for the club’s academy and reserve outfits.
In the pre-season just gone, he featured in the first-team friendlies against both Leeds and Hull KR, and in 2026 has helped the reserve side to an unbeaten start to the season.
He has also spent time on loan at Dewsbury Rams in the Championship, playing for the Rams in their defeat to Widnes over the weekend.
Younger brother Corey has signed a huge five-year deal in order to continue his development under Daryl Powell and his coaching staff.
A loose forward just like Charlie, Corey has joined the academy side after impressing in scholarship and he too featured in the pre-season game against KR.
Commenting on their new contracts, Charlie Abraham said: “It’s been a long, weird journey to get to this point but to go full time and at Wakefield I really couldn’t be happier. The past 12 months I’ve had here under Danny Kirmond and the rest of the coaching staff has really pushed me to believe that I can do this full time so it’s about kicking on now and pushing for that Super League debut.”
Meanwhile, Corey Abraham said: “I’m really pleased to have my future sorted out here at Wakefield. This is the club I’ve supported since I was around four years old and it’s the club I want to be at. Knowing I’m here for the next few years and where the club is heading is great. It’s pretty surreal learning from people like Mike McMeeken, Tom Johnstone and Jazz Tevaga with them having so much experience.”
