Wakefield Trinity boss Wilie Poching confirms star will play in the reserves this weekend after ‘loss of form’

Wakefield Trinity head coach Willie Poching has rung the changes ahead of his side’s fixture in the south of France against Catalans Dragons on Saturday night.

Among those who will not be playing will be David Fifita, Jacob Miller and Lee Gaskell who all picked up knocks from Trinity’s loss to Hull FC.

However, one star who will not be playing for a different reason is Kelepi Tanginoa.

The rampaging forward, according to head coach Willie Poching, will play for the reserves this weekend instead after a loss of form.

“It’s a bit of form for Kelepi, he’s a bit down on confidence,” Poching said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture on BBC Radio Leeds.

“I had a really good discussion with him and he will play on Friday night for the reserve grade side.

“We’re looking for him to go out and find a bit of his mojo again and get back to being happy.

“Sometimes when you get into a bit of a slump in form, the harder you try the harder it is to get out of it so we’re taking him out of the firing line to let him play in the reserves a little bit with less pressure and hopefully an environment where he can just be himself and grow his confidence.”
