Wakefield Trinity bolster ranks with signing from Warrington Wolves

Wakefield Trinity have announced the signing of youngster Noah High from Warrington Wolves. High joins on a two-year deal with Wakefield holding the option to extend his stay by another year to potentially keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.

The 20-year-old leaves the Halliwell Jones Stadium having failed to make a senior appearance for Warrington. However, he does have some first-team minutes under his belt.

He made eight appearances and scored two tries for Whitehaven while on loan at the club last season. He also made an appearance for Workington earlier this year, featuring in the Cumbrian outfit’s Challenge Cup win over the Royal Navy.

High can play in numerous positions across the pack, either through the middle or in the back-row and as he links up with Daryl Powell’s side, he’ll be keen to take the next step in his development at Belle Vue and make his Super League bow.

“I was made up when I got the call about joining Wakefield, having played them a number of times through academy, and it all happened pretty quick really,” the youngster told Wakefield Trinity after signing.

“It’s always been the goal to be a part of a full time squad so I’m hoping to get the most out of it and learn as much as I can from the coaches and players around me to hopefully push on to play first team rugby during my time here.”

Ste Mills, Wakefield’s recruitment chief, added: “Bringing Noah into Wakefield Trinity is a big coup for the club, a young English forward with plenty of upside who we feel will flourish in our environment.

“For a young man, he’s had a great journey so far and he’s a great person to add to it all. I’m very excited to see how Noah develops in the coming months and watch his transition to becoming a Super League player.”
