Wakefield Trinity announce superb stadium news

Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity have announced a further significant milestone in their plans to redevelop the Be Well Support Stadium at Belle Vue.

Following the signing of the S106 agreement in March 2022, the club, together with their advisors, have been working on a detailed Delivery Plan. This plan covers the detail of design, costings, funding and build timetable and is required to be submitted to Wakefield Council under the terms of the S106 agreement.

Despite the significant challengers presented by the effects of Brexit, pandemic and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine which have resulted in spiralling inflation in many of the commodities required to achieve the redevelopment, we are pleased to announce that, working closely with our proposed main contractor, Morgan Sindall Construction, we submitted the delivery Plan just ahead of the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. We now look forward to approval of the Plan by Wakefield Council in time for demolition and construction to start after the home game against wigan on 3 July 2022.

Chairman John Minards said: “I am personally thrilled that we have reached this important stage in our plans. Michael and I would like to thank all those who have worked so hard to help us reach this point.

“These include director Rodger Lambert as well as advisors; Turner and Townsend, Addleshaw Goddard, AFL Architects, Nolans, CPH, Pegasus Group and the club’s legal advisors Williams & Co.”
