Wakefield Trinity allow three players to leave ahead of rebuild

Alex Walker (1) of Wakefield Trinity and Ryan Hampshire (29) of Wakefield Trinity flip Benjamin Garcia (13) of Catalans Dragons over to stop him scoring a try

Wakefield Trinity have announced that Chris Green, Alex Walker and Oliver Greensmith have left the club following the expiration of their contracts.

Green signed for the club midway through the 2019 season and boosted Trinity’s pack in an important run of fixtures towards the back end of the year. The prop-forward went on to make 29 appearances for the club.

Walker, who has recently been playing at Featherstone Rovers on loan, joined the club from London Broncos ahead of the 2020 season. Unfortunately for Walker, injuries limited the full-back to just ten appearances in the Red, White & Blue.

Greensmith, a product of Trinity’s academy, made his sole appearance for the club in our fixture with Salford in July. The outside back has recently been playing on loan at Doncaster RLFC and has featured heavily during their games towards the end of the season, which included a play-off run in League One.
