It was a history making day for the club as well as they continue to show their growing fan base with a record number of travelling fans.

It took just a few minutes for Wakefield to show their attacking prowess as a move to the left found Walmsley in space out wide before the winger kicked back inside where Luke Gale was waiting to touch down.
It was a Wakefield double minutes later as Josh Griffin quick hands put Jermaine McGillvary away and the prolific winger stepped inside a chasing York defender to extend Trinity’s lead.
Griffin then turned scorer soon after as he powered onto a pass close to the York line to dot down.
20 minutes in and it was the turn of Walmsley to get in on the scoring antics. A fantastic cut out pass from fullback Max Jowitt found the Aussie winger and he just managed to stretch out and touchdown.
That blitz put Wakefield 24-0 ahead and that’s how it stayed until the break with Trinity having to show their toughness in defence as York continually knocked on the door for a response.
The second half started much the same as Caleb Uele charged into the York line and after initially taking heavy contact, he just kept his legs pumping and freed his arm to score.
Walmsley coasted over for his second shortly after another cut out ball gave him a free run to the try line.
York got on the scoresheet with 10 minutes to go. A couple of sloppy errors from Wakefield had invited the home side to have a period of continued pressure. Eventually, the Knights got over the line as Jesse Dee offloaded to find Will Jubb and the hooker squeezed over.
Trinity were not done though. As the hooter sounded, Jowitt again turned provider as he send Walmsley over for his hat-trick to close out the game.
