Wakefield Trinity have signed French prop Romain Navarrete on a season-long loan deal from Wigan.

The 25-year-old has made 60 appearances for the Warriors since joining in 2017 but has found himself down the pecking order ahead of next year, having yet to make an appearance in pre-season.

Trinity coach Chris Chester revealed last week that he was looking to add another forward to his squad, following injuries to several players including Chris Green, Tinirau Arona and David Fifita.

Navarrete will plug that gap and significantly bolster the club’s front row options for 2020.

“I’m delighted to get Romain in for the 2020 season,” Chester told the Wakefield club website. “He’s a tough and aggressive middle unit that has a wealth of experience in Super League, despite being only 25.

He’ll add some depth to the pack and I’m looking forward to working with him throughout the year.”
