Wakefield reveal plans for stadium redevelopment

Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity have revealed plans to redevelop the Mobile Rocket Stadium, which include the construction of a 2,500-seater stand and the installation of an artificial 4G pitch.

Following the purchase of the freehold of the stadium in March 2019, the club have submitted a planning application which, if granted, will be the ground’s most significant developments for 75 years.

The main part of the proposed redevelopment would be the construction of a 2,500-seater East Stand, which would include a large hospitality and conferencing facility.

The terraced North Stand would also be given an upgrade, while the floodlights would be updated to the latest LED technology.

The installation of an all-weather 4G pitch, similar to what is used by Widnes Vikings and London Broncos at their respective home grounds, is also among the changes, as is the creation of a FanZone and landscape car parking facilities, and refurbishment of the ‘Rollin Shack’ bar.

The club are determined that the redevelopments will not only benefit themselves, but also provide first class amenities for the wide community of Wakefield.
