Two Super League players suspended

The Match Review Panel have handed bans to Aaron Smith and Suaia Matagi following the weekend’s Super League games.

Saints youngster Smith has been issued with a one-match penalty notice for dangerous contact during Saturday’s game against Toronto.

Wolfpack back-rower Bodene Thompson has escaped a ban despite his sending off for a shoulder charge on Matty Lees.

Huddersfield forward Matagi has also received a one-match penalty notice for a trip during the Giants defeat to Wigan on Sunday.

Meanwhile, his teammate Aidan Sezer has avoided punishment for a high tackle in the same game.

The charges listed below have been issued by the independent Match Review Panel following Round 5 of the Betfred Super League:

Bodene Thompson (Toronto Wolfpack) Grade A Strike – 0 Match Penalty Notice

Aaron Smith (St Helens) Grade A Dangerous Contact – 1 Match Penalty Notice

Aidan Sezer (Huddersfield Giants) Grade A High Tackle – 0 Match Penalty Notice

Suaia Matagi (Huddersfield Giants) Grade B Trip – 1 Match Penalty Notice
