Two Super League players suspended

Following the latest round of Betfred Super League action, two players have been issued with bans by the RFL’s Match Review Panel.

Catalans forward Jason Baitieri received a two-match penalty notice for Grade C Dangerous Contact during the weekend defeat to London Broncos.

Meanwhile St Helens youngster Jack Ashworth was handed a one-match ban for Grade B Striking with the Shoulder.

Saints will appeal the ban against Ashworth who was cited after making contact with Huddersfield’s Oliver Russell during the 36th minute of their match against Huddersfield on Friday.

Should the appeal be unsuccessful, he will sit out their Super League clash with Leeds Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday.

The hearing will take place at the RFL’s Red Hall headquarters this evening.
