Two Super League clubs reportedly interested in Kruise Leeming

It was reported recently by Rugby League Live that Catalans Dragons had tabled an offer to former Leeds Rhinos hooker Kruise Leeming for 2024 but now reports suggest another Super League side are in the hunt.

Formerly of Huddersfield Giants, the hooker left for Leeds in 2020 in a move that saw Owen Trout head the other way.

After an injury hit start to life at the club, he went on to help them win the Challenge Cup in his first season and in 2021 came into his own being named in the Super League Dream Team and also showing what he can do in the halves.

Leeming also made his England debut in 2021 and going into 2022 he was named Leeds skipper. He was having a strong season till injury struck and then he found himself behind Jarrod O’Connor in the pecking order.

The hooker then requested a release at the start of this season and joined Gold Coast Titans in the NRL until the end of the season.

Where his future lies is unclear but he has been a regular down under since joining the Queensland club.

Catalans have tabled an offer and according to French publications L’Independent and Treize Mondial the Dragons could face stiff competition from Super League and World Champions St Helens.

Saints are looking for a replacement for retiring legend James Roby who surpassed the club’s appearance record today.

Daryl Clark of Warrington Wolves is reportedly their main target but according to L’Independent and Treize Mondial the Saints are also keeping an eye on Leeming as a potential back up option if they can’t get Clark.

Should the Saints secure the services of Daryl Clark then Catalans would have a clear run to Leeming’s signature it would seem.
