Two players issued with bans by Rugby League World Cup MRP

The most recent Match Review Panel meeting, which took place on 26 October, reviewing the latest Rugby League World Cup fixtures, has seen two players issued with bans.
Mackenzie Yei of Papua New Guinea and Ruebenn Rennie of Cook Islands were both handed one-match bans for Grade A offences by the disciplinary panel.
Both incidents happened in the same game, with PNG prevailing 32-16 against the Cook Islands at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday night.
PNG prop Yei was cited for a high tackle on Rya Ngatikaura in the 28th minute, with the incident resulting in Yei receiving a yellow card.
Cook Islands’ forward Rennie was then sent to the sin-bin in the second half for a reckless tip-tackle on PNG’s Wellington Albert.
Both players have until 11am on Thursday 27 October to appeal the decisions.

Mackenzie Yei (PNG): Grade A High tackle, 1 Match Penalty Notice
Ruebenn Rennie (Cook Islands): Grade A Dangerous throw, 1 Match Penalty Notice
The deadline to challenge the decisions is 11am on Thursday 27 October.
