Two of Super League’s biggest stars return as new signing also set for debut

When the Magic Weekend fixtures were announced this game looked like it could be a huge top of the table clash.

Reigning Super League and World Champions St Helens are taking on the side many saw as the dark horses to dethrone them in 2023 in the shape of Huddersfield Giants who after a third place finish in 2022 strengthened their squad.

However, the Giants have struggled this season though got back on track against Castleford Tigers last week.

They take on an inconsistent St Helens side who are fighting for a place in the top six at the moment which no one expected.

So, it is still set to be a huge game but not for the reasons people were expecting.

The team news is now in.

St Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens has two changes to the squad that was declared for the 12-13 win over Leeds Rhinos, with Ben Davies and Sam Royle making way for star centre Mark Percival who is back available following a hamstring injury, and prop forward Matty Lees returns following his two-match suspension.

As for Huddersfield, they are still without Jermaine McGillvary, Ash Golding, Olly Russell and Josh Jones.

They could however give a debut to signing from Castleford Tigers Adam Milner.
