Twist in Super League target Tariq Sims’ future

There has been a new twist in the future of St George Illawarra Dragons and Super League target Tariq Sims.

The enforcer had been linked with a move to the Super League, with Leeds Rhinos said to have been interested but now St George are wanting to keep Sims, according to ‘The Mole’ at the Wide World of Sports.

Sims had been refused an extension past the 2022 season by the Dragons, with the 31-year-old given permission to hold talks with other clubs – and he did just that, but no deal has yet been concluded.

And, now Dragons officials are hoping that Sims stays at the club until the conclusion of his deal in a last-ditch bid to make the finals in 2022 after a few seasons on the periphery.

For the Rhinos, however, their recruitment business looks to be done with the signing of Tongan international winger David Fusitu’a bringing their quota spot to the max.
