Transfer update on former reported Hull FC & Leeds Rhinos target

Kyle Flanagan is never short of making a headline.
The young halfback who caught the eye when he came over to the UK with the Sydney Roosters in 2020 when they defeated St Helens to lift the World Club Challenge and has constantly been linked with a move to the UK.
After leaving the Roosters for the Canterbury Bulldogs, things haven’t quite clicked for him and he has been in and out of the side despite his obvious quality.
He has subsequently been routinely linked with a move to Super League.
When Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington went to Australia in search of a new coach after Richard Agar resigned, it was rumoured that he was set to bring Kyle’s father Shane as Head Coach in a double coup with Kyle coming along to Headingley too.
In the end, Hetherington appointed Rohan Smith and then in August, Flanagan was linked with a move to Hull FC who in the end have signed Jake Clifford and Tex Hoy from Newcastle Knights with Jake Connor leaving the club for the Huddersfield Giants.
Flanagan laughed off this suggestion and said he wanted a new deal at the Bulldogs but he has recently been linked with a move to the Manly Sea Eagles after the departure of Kieran Foran to the Gold Coast Titans.
However, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, this won’t be happening.
It comes after the Sea Eagles have signed the nephew of legendary halfback and Warrington Wolves man Cooper Johns from the Melbourne Storm.
