Toulouse sign exciting Englishman

Max Clarke has joined Toulouse Olympique.

The English centre joins from the Sheffield Eagles to aid the French side in their first season in Super League.

Having come through the academy at the London Broncos, Clarke played in League 1 with their reserve team, the London Skolars, before making the move to Championship side Sheffield.

Still only 21 years of age, Clarke will arrive in Toulouse in time for the club’s pre-season friendly against defending Elite One Championship winners FC Lezignan.

Clarke said: “I’m excited to join the TO Elite and come and live in this great city.

“There is a great team there with quality players, at a club that has big ambitions, like me. By talking to Rémi, I quickly understood that I would be in the right place. ”

Remi Dufour, the club’s co-President is excited about the prospect of seeing Clarke play:“Let us remember that the goal of our team is above all the training of young people to bring them to the highest level: the Super League.

“Max has ambitions due to his young age and potential. Now, thanks to his size and his qualities, he can already bring a lot to the team. “
