Toulouse pair sign contract extensions

Toulouse have confirmed that former Super League pair Junior Vaivai and Lloyd White have both signed new deals at the club.

Outside back Vaivai, 30, signed for the French club mid-way through 2019 after a fruitful spell with Hull KR.

A USA international, he has scored six tries in 11 games for Olympique so far and has extended his deal until the end of the 2022 season.

Welshman White, 31, signed ahead of 2020 after a spell in Australia with Mackay Cutters in the Queensland Cup.

He too has a wealth of experience, having played over 170 top-flight games for Crusaders and Widnes, and has signed until the end of 2021.

On the deal, Vaivai said: “I’m really happy to stay 2 more seasons at Toulouse. We have a great group, who work hard every day, as well as a very efficient staff who know how to do so that we are at our best level every weekend.

“My family and I are excited about staying in Toulouse and continuing to learn French. I hope our fans are doing well after the crisis that we went through and will be able to find them soon.”

White added: “I’m happy to stay for at least another year. I really like living in Toulouse, I can’t wait to discover more and improve my French.

“This season is really not going as planned so, if it stops, I intend to catch up next year with the rise in the Super League as a goal.”
